CWT Offers Innovative Virtual Payment Solution to Clients

AMSTERDAM | September 17, 2014

Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) today announced that it has added to its travel offering with the introduction of a virtual payment solution, powered by Conferma.

Part of CWT’s focus on delivering a seamless door-to-door integrated system for clients and their travelers at every step of their journey, the new virtual payment solution not only helps travelers without a company credit card, but also clients who want to settle their corporate travel centrally. Initially the solution will be used to pay for hotels and low cost carriers, and may also be offered for other content in the future. For clients and travel managers, this means automated reconciliation of charges for improved accuracy, greater visibility into total cost of travel, increased efficiency and better program compliance, while travelers benefit from a simplified expense management process and less reliance on their personal credit cards for business expenditure.

Nick Vournakis, senior vice president, Global Marketing, CWT, said, “Clients are looking to CWT to manage payments for all their travel, across all market segments, online and offline. This solution enables us to meet even more of their needs, and we look forward to implementing this innovative product with our clients.”

CWT’s virtual credit card solution works across all GDS platforms, and depending on which country a customer is based, can be offered via CWT’s or the client’s specific card provider.

“At Conferma, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of innovation in universal payment technologies,” commented Simon Barker, CEO, Conferma. “CWT has embraced our innovation and customized it around their world-renowned and flexible corporate solutions. We are confident that Conferma’s technologies, combined with CWT’s global reach and customer service ethic, will set a new, industry-leading standard in payment and data solutions.”

10 Ideas to Create Meaningful Family Moments

Every moment together counts, so make the most of family time with these perfect ideas.                                                       By Holly Lebowitz Rossi

Designate a Family “Holiday”

Surprise family members with “holidays” tailored to each personality. Just like birthdays and conventional holidays, pack these days with unique traditions (like a poem written in someone’s honor) and special foods. The celebrations can also be clever and unexpected ways to honor each person. When I was a kid, my mother posted a puzzling note on the fridge that said “5 Days until WAHD.” The countdown continued…4 days, then 3, then 2, then 1, and finally the surprise was revealed: It was “We Appreciate Holly Day!” The fun of anticipating the mystery and guessing what the letters stood for is something I’ll always remember and cherish. The day consisted of my favorite dinner, a fabulous cake, and a poster-size list of all the special things I accomplished at the time, like finishing homework, being kind to my younger sister, and making my bed without being asked.

How To Save Money When Traveling

Planning An End-Of-Summer Getaway? Read This First And Save Money.

8-ways-to-save-when-travelling-1089464-TwoByOne

When it comes to travel, a lot of us are guilty of a great many habits that cost us money in the long run. Maybe you splurge on snacks, beer and magazines while you’re killing time before your flight. Maybe you’re in the habit of booking last minute. Either way, all of those expenses have a way of adding up, and being diligent about your travel habits will ensure that you don’t break the bank every time you get on a plane.

Double-check everything before you go

Make sure you haven’t forgotten any of your various chargers or toiletries before you leave the house. If you forget any of these items, you’re probably going to end up purchasing them for a hefty premium when you get to the airport. All that will be necessary to avoid this needless expense is a quick five-minute check before you leave, so don’t neglect the opportunity. Consider drawing up a list of things you need to remember — and don’t leave until you’ve packed everything on it. It will make your travel smoother, and save you some money at the same time.
